Well, the other shoe dropped and I have been laid off.
No severance package, other than my accrued vacation time.
That really sucks after working for Amity for over twenty years. I blame United Mail. Their CEO out and out lied at the meeting where they told up they were buying Amity. I asked straight out if they where going to take administrative people as part of the merger, and he said they were. They didn't. Only the top sales people, the coordinators who actually work with customers, and the people who run machines were made offers. If the folks at United Mail had any spine they would have just said that up fount instead of "we will be making offers to most, if not all, employees."
They way they handled this makes me glad they did not make me an offer. I think they lack integrity.

I'm so sorry to hear it, Mary. Seems like everyone's having a rough time of it this month.
Best of luck finding a new company that does have integrity!

Are you aware that your posts may have something to do with your predicament? People we not supposed to speak of the deal publicly and then you did. Huh, wonder who dosen't have integrity?

Lisa,
I'm not sure what your point is.
I was never told that we were not to talk about United Mail Purchasing Amity. They did not say that at the initial meeting, and I was not told at any time after that.
I did not make the post you are replying to until the day after I had been told I had been "terminated effective upon the sale of business assets and the cessation of business activities"
At that point they no longer had any right to tell me what I could or could not say in any media, since I no longer had any connection to either company.
