This week at the park in stead of doing our usual classroom style programs we used fairy tales to get kids to use there own imaginations in the Discovery Garden. We did some story telling with character prompts and had a special scavenger hunt for fairies visiting on vacation, then we build some fairy houses for the vacationing fairies using bark, twigs and pine cones that had been collected ahead of time for the project.
All these houses were built by kids with limited adult supervisioin. I think they did a super job.
Friday night at InConJunction I went to a costuming workshop on building wings that open and close. It was quite fun and gave me an idea for a wingged steampunkish Alien Pet. The Workshop facilitator took some photos and you can check then outhere.
Cincinnati Museum Center A nice Museum in one of the most wonderful Art Deco buildings in the world. It has a special place in my heart because I met my husband in the basement of the Natural History Museum.
